Swedish photographer Chistian Nilson explores the nuances of Swiss culture through the lens of the diverse people who populate Switzerland's streets. Here, he presents the country as a space that is neither his home nor entirely foreign, both recognizable and alien.
Says Nilson in his Artist Statement, “Confoederatio Helvetica Mea is a series about my Switzerland. How I see Switzerland as a foreigner. It´s […] very personal project for me. I have been living in Switzerland for 11 years now, and as with everything else in life, it has its good and its bad sides.”
Each week, Feature Shoot editors showcase the work of one photographer who has applied to the Emerging Photography Awards in order to highlight the diverse array of applications we receive. This is not an endorsement of the photographer for the award.
