Emerging Photography Contender: Cassandra Tzortzoglou

For Natural Phenomena, Australian photographer Cassandra Tzortzoglou creates a fantasy world all her own, where mankind and the wildness collide to form a realm that runs parallel to yet deviates from what we understand as reality.

Writes Tzortzoglou in her Artist Statement, “Creating moments of stillness in nature, bodies are tipped into strangeness, lurching between the dimensions of this world and another. Moved by ideas of transparency, meditation, and delirium, an alien species emerges – the characters are absorbed by another dimension, morphing into something fictional.”

Each week, Feature Shoot editors showcase the work of one photographer who has applied to the Emerging Photography Awards in order to highlight the diverse array of applications we receive. This is not an endorsement of the photographer for the award.

Apply to the Feature Shoot 2015 Emerging Photography Awards here. It pays to apply early, as we will be featuring some of our favorite submissions right here and over our social media channels.
