For Sehnsucht, Italian photographer Mara Grimaldi takes us on a conflicted, ambitious journey through the contours of human desire.
Writes Grimaldi in her Artist Statement, “Sehnsucht is a German word that can't be translated in other languages. It represents a lack, an inconsolable longing for infinity, the nostalgia of something undefined, not lived. Through this images I'm trying to express the inquietude and the dissatisfaction for the present. The desire to escape in any unknown place.”
