EMERGING PHOTOGRAPHY CONTENDER: MEERA SULAIMAN

In her series Whispers of Children and Animals, Sri Lankan born Canadian photographer Meera Sulaiman captures the magical affinities and ambiguous bonds formed between animals in captivity and children.

The photographer writes in her artist’s statement: “I see the connection between humans and animals as one of the most fundamental, but sometimes invisible, of all bonds that human beings experience. My goal is to produce a book of this series, proceeds of which will benefit an animal sanctuary”.
