EMERGING PHOTOGRAPHY CONTENDER: SKYE SNYDER

Skye Snyder has been using photography as a tool for communication for as long as she can remember, though in the past couple of years has turned her lens towards the environment. The photographs that constitute her series Consumption display abandoned objects in nature.

Disposed trash and unwanted furniture became the artist’s obsession. The artist elaborates: “In this series, mass quantities of plastics and cardboard create peculiar landscapes, some of which are reminiscent of the human flesh that discarded the materials”.
